Cleeng started during the debates sparked by Ruppert Murdoch’s decision to expand the use of paywalls to compensate for the declining revenues of publishers, and allow quality journalism to survive. In 2010, we witnessed the emergence of new business models for content, like the one developed by Apple for the iPad , and the emergence of the “freemium” model. In both case, the consumer is roped into a no-preview, take-it-or-leave-it buying proposition.
We believed that there has got to be another way. One that supports content producers and also better recognizes the needs of consumers. Ultimately, we believe that everybody should earn more money and have better experience with quality content. That’s the big idea behind Cleeng.
Cleeng brings innovation to content monetization offering content creators a One-Stop solution to monetize text, videos and/or images on their site, suitable for any user devices. Cleeng is a patented cloud based service for any Content Management Systems (CMS) that provides publishers, whatever their size, with an easy way of collecting payments when consumers consult online content while leaving traffic flow intact on their sites. It simplifies access to 100′s publications by offering a one-click, pay-as-you-go solution to online consumers with a single account. It works on all web-enabled devices and with practically all kinds of content.
Cleeng was launched in February 2011 and has offices in Amsterdam and Paris. It is a privately held company lead by former Apple, Philips, Best of Media and Packard Bell executives.

10 years of managing global online & eCommerce projects, driving web development teams & roadmaps. Lead Philips online platforms developments coordinating the work of 60+ developers. Holds a MSc degree in Engineering, and just completed an Ironman.
Nicolas Le Gall – SVP Sales & Business Development
12-year online publishing, audience generation and monetization experience. Serial entrepreneur, built his own web agency, then business development roles for Apple and Packard Bell. Since 2004, developed BestofMedia Group into a publishing powerhouse of 35M UV / month present in 15 countries.
Marcin Tarnowski – Lead Developer
Expert in web programming and scalable databases. Built multiple online applications for Red Bull, the Polish Government and its own innovative web platforms. Holds a MSc degree in Computer Science. After many skydiving jumps and acrobatic glider flights found a new adrenaline rush: Cleeng.
Mateusz Tymek – Lead Developer
Compiled his first lines of code at the age of 12. Later focused entirely on web programming to become a seasoned PHP guru. Recognized publisher of PHP articles within the developers’ community. Holds a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science and takes an active interest in military aircrafts.
Krzysztof Wiercioch – Associate Developer
Genuine Zend PHP guru. Studied Economics and Computer science with a specialization in databases. Always up for a coding challenge, solving problems quickly, efficiently and creatively.
